Richard Kern, photographer and filmmaker remains, first and foremost, a portraitist. For more than two decades Kern has sought to unravel and illuminate the complex and often darker sides of human nature. In his latest piece “Power Couples” shot for Vice he gets intimate with some of the most powerful art couples who define our culture’s future tendencies. The shoot features Slava Mogutin, Brian Kenny, Jenny Shimizu, AA Bronson, Mark Jan Krayenhoff van de Leur, Simon Doonan, Adam Selman, Eileen Myles, Leopoldine Core and others.
